Alden’s Organic ice cream is made in Eugen, Oregon. The company has been making it since 2004 and it is now one the top-selling brands of organic ice cream in America. The strawberry ice cream is made with real strawberries, milk, cream, and cane sugar as its primary ingredients. All ingredients are USDA Organic and the ice cream contains no high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, GMOs, antibiotics, or carrageenan.


Baskin-Robbins

Baskin-Robbins was opened in 1945 and is known for its chain of ice cream shops. Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins founded the company which has made over 1,300 flavors of ice cream through the years. The company came up with the term “31 flavors” to indicate to customers that a new flavor could be tried each day of the month.

Of course, strawberry is one of the many flavors made by Baskin-Robbins today. Its Very Berry Strawberry ice cream can be purchased in pints or in scoops at stores where available.


Ben & Jerry’s

Ben & Jerry’s needs no introduction. The Vermont-based ice cream manufacturer was started by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield in 1978. The ice cream is known for its premium ingredients, generous chunks, and its unique product names. Despite the founders’ names being on the packaging, the brand has been owned by Unilever since 2000.

You’ll need to head to a Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop to get its strawberry ice cream. However, Strawberry Cheesecake (as pictured above) can be found in stores. The company also makes pints of Strawberry Topped Tart which is ice cream with strawberry swirls and pie crust pieces mixed in. This ice cream is also topped with white chocolate ganache and candy sprinkles.


Blue Bell

Blue Bell was started in 1907 in Brenham, Texas. The business was called Brenham Creamery Company at the time and its focus was on making butter. It wasn’t until 1930 that its name changed to Blue Bell named after the Texas wildflower. In the late 1950s, the company transitioned from making butter to ice cream.

You can find Blue Bell products in 22 states today. Its strawberry ice cream is available in half-gallon and pint sizes.


Blue Bunny

This ice cream brand got its name in 1935 when an Iowa man won a “Name That Ice Cream” contest held by the Wells family who was looking for a new name for their ice cream. Today, the brand is owned by Wells Enterprises and is made in Le Mars, Iowa which is known as the Ice Cream Capital of the World due to the enormous amount of ice cream made at the company’s facilities in the town.

Blue Bunny’s strawberry ice cream is called Double Strawberry Swirl. The company also makes a reduced fat strawberry ice cream called Sweet Freedom Double Strawberry Swirl.


Breyers

Breyers was first made in 1866 in Philadelphia. The founder, William A. Breyer, produced the first hand-cranked gallon of ice cream with the ingredients of cream, cane sugar, and nuts. The ice cream was sold locally to neighbors. In 1882, Breyer launched its first ice cream shop while continuing to deliver locally. Breyers opened its first manufacturing facility in 1896 which helped it grow to over one million gallons per year by 1918.

Today, the Breyers brand is owned by the conglomerate, Unilever. It makes a natural strawberry ice cream that is made with minimal ingredients including milk, strawberries, cream, sugar, whey, and vegetable gum (tara).

The name “Häagen-Das” may seem like it is made outside of the United States. However, the brand originates from The Brox, New York where it was first made in 1960. The founders, Reuben and Rose Mattus, started Häagen-Das after many years of making ice pops and ice cream at their company called Senator Frozen Products. In 1983, Pillsbury acquired Häagen-Das. The brand is now owned by Froneri (a joint venture between Nestlé and PAI Partners) in the United States.

Häagen-Das makes a super-premium strawberry ice cream made with the simple ingredients of cream, skim milk, strawberries, cane sugar, and egg yolks.

Tillamook
