Strawberry ice cream certainly isn’t the most popular flavor out there but it is undoubtedly loved by many. It is the most popular fruit-based ice cream in the United States and often ranks in the top five in many polls for favorite ice cream flavor.

Given its popularity, we decide to put together the below list of strawberry ice cream brands. We hope this list helps readers find a new brand to enjoy for many days and years ahead.

Strawberry Ice Cream Brands

Alden’s Organic


Alden’s Organic ice cream is made in Eugen, Oregon. The company has been making it since 2004 and it is now one the top-selling brands of organic ice cream in America. The strawberry ice cream is made with real strawberries, milk, cream, and cane sugar as its primary ingredients. All ingredients are USDA Organic and the ice cream contains no high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, GMOs, antibiotics, or carrageenan.



Baskin-Robbins was opened in 1945 and is known for its chain of ice cream shops. Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins founded the company which has made over 1,300 flavors of ice cream through the years. The company came up with the term “31 flavors” to indicate to customers that a new flavor could be tried each day of the month.

Of course, strawberry is one of the many flavors made by Baskin-Robbins today. Its Very Berry Strawberry ice cream can be purchased in pints or in scoops at stores where available.

Ben & Jerry’s


Ben & Jerry’s needs no introduction. The Vermont-based ice cream manufacturer was started by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield in 1978. The ice cream is known for its premium ingredients, generous chunks, and its unique product names. Despite the founders’ names being on the packaging, the brand has been owned by Unilever since 2000.

You’ll need to head to a Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop to get its strawberry ice cream. However, Strawberry Cheesecake (as pictured above) can be found in stores. The company also makes pints of Strawberry Topped Tart which is ice cream with strawberry swirls and pie crust pieces mixed in. This ice cream is also topped with white chocolate ganache and candy sprinkles.

Blue Bell


Blue Bell was started in 1907 in Brenham, Texas. The business was called Brenham Creamery Company at the time and its focus was on making butter. It wasn’t until 1930 that its name changed to Blue Bell named after the Texas wildflower. In the late 1950s, the company transitioned from making butter to ice cream.

You can find Blue Bell products in 22 states today. Its strawberry ice cream is available in half-gallon and pint sizes.

Blue Bunny


This ice cream brand got its name in 1935 when an Iowa man won a “Name That Ice Cream” contest held by the Wells family who was looking for a new name for their ice cream. Today, the brand is owned by Wells Enterprises and is made in Le Mars, Iowa which is known as the Ice Cream Capital of the World due to the enormous amount of ice cream made at the company’s facilities in the town.

Blue Bunny’s strawberry ice cream is called Double Strawberry Swirl. The company also makes a reduced fat strawberry ice cream called Sweet Freedom Double Strawberry Swirl.



Breyers was first made in 1866 in Philadelphia. The founder, William A. Breyer, produced the first hand-cranked gallon of ice cream with the ingredients of cream, cane sugar, and nuts. The ice cream was sold locally to neighbors. In 1882, Breyer launched its first ice cream shop while continuing to deliver locally. Breyers opened its first manufacturing facility in 1896 which helped it grow to over one million gallons per year by 1918.

Today, the Breyers brand is owned by the conglomerate, Unilever. It makes a natural strawberry ice cream that is made with minimal ingredients including milk, strawberries, cream, sugar, whey, and vegetable gum (tara).



Dryer’s is a brand of ice cream sold in the Western United States. See its brother brand, Edy’s, below for additional details. Dreyer’s strawberry ice cream can be purchased in classic and slow-churned, similar to Edy’s below.



This brand is owned by Froneri (a joint venture between Nestlé and PAI Partners) in the United States. The company also makes Häagen-Das, Dreyers, Outshine, Nestle Drumstick, and SkinnyCow. Edy’s is sold in the Midwest and the East of the United States. The brand dates back to 1928 when William Dryer and Joseph Edy founded Edy’s Grand Ice Cream.

Edy’s strawberry ice cream is available in classic and slow-churned varieties.



The name “Häagen-Das” may seem like it is made outside of the United States. However, the brand originates from The Brox, New York where it was first made in 1960. The founders, Reuben and Rose Mattus, started Häagen-Das after many years of making ice pops and ice cream at their company called Senator Frozen Products. In 1983, Pillsbury acquired Häagen-Das. The brand is now owned by Froneri (a joint venture between Nestlé and PAI Partners) in the United States.

Häagen-Das makes a super-premium strawberry ice cream made with the simple ingredients of cream, skim milk, strawberries, cane sugar, and egg yolks.

Halo Top


Halo is a solid option for people looking to satisfy their sweet tooth without having to consume the calories of traditional ice cream. It makes pints of light ice cream ranging in calories from 280-380 for the whole pint! In addition to fewer calories, it has less sugar and higher protein compared to the typical ice cream.

Halo Top’s strawberry ice cream contains only 270 calories with 6 grams of total fat per pint. Furthermore, a pint of this ice cream contains a hefty 18 grams of protein.



Hood is approximately 175 years old so it’s safe to say that they have learned a thing or two about making high-quality dairy products. The company owns several other relatively well-known dairy brands such as Heluva Good!, Crowley Foods, Peen Maid Foods, Brigham’s Ice Cream, and others.

Hood makes Creamy Strawberry ice cream available in a 1.5-quart size. They also manufacture a Strawberry Fat-Free frozen yogurt.



This ice cream brand was first produced in Hudsonville, Michigan at the Hudsonville Creamery in 1926. Strawberry was one of the original flavors. The other originals were butter pecan, orange pineapple, tutti fruitie, chocolate, and vanilla.

Based on the Hudsonville website, strawberry ice cream currently is not being made. However, the company does produce flavors that have strawberry ice cream including Neapolitan and Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream.



Jeni Britton Bauer launched Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in the early 2000s after making ice cream for over 20 years as a career. Jeni’s makes artisan ice cream with many unique flavors such as Cognac with Gingerbread, Middle West Whiskey & Pecans, and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries.

Jeni’s strawberry ice cream is called Strawberry Buttermilk. The buttermilk is made with strawberries, tapioca syrup, cane sugar, and cultured buttermilk.



Kemps is a subsidiary of the Dairy Farmers of America since 2011. It makes a large selection of dairy products such as milk, cottage cheese, juices, sour cream, and ice cream. Its strawberry ice creams include Old Fashioned Strawberry No Sugar Added, Simply Crafted Summer Strawberry, and Reduced Fat Strawberry ice cream.



This dairy was opened in 1923 and is currently owned by Dean Foods. Mayfield’s products are primarily sold in the Southeast of the United States. The company makes strawberry ice cream available in 1.75 quarts and a pint. They also produce a strawberry cheesecake ice cream available in a 1.5-quart container and strawberry frozen yogurt in the same size.



Oberweis is primarily a Midwestern strawberry ice cream brand among other flavors. The company has been in business since 1927 and is headquartered in North Aurora, Illinois. Its current businesses include home delivery, dairy & ice cream stores, That Burger Joint (a competitor of Five Guys), and Woodgrain Neapolitan Pizzeria (personal-sized pizza shop). Additionally, the company’s ice cream is sold in several grocery stores.

All Oberweis ice cream is super-premium due to the use of superior ingredients and a high-quality manufacturing process. Straus Family Creamery


Straus is a baby in comparison to other dairies in the U.S. It was founded in 1994 as a family-owned business in California. They specialize in organic dairy products such as milk, cream, yogurt, sour cream, butter, ice cream, and more.

Straus makes organic super-premium ice cream that comes in pints and quarts. Its ice cream, including strawberry, is made with high-quality organic milk, cream, and cane sugar as its primary ingredients. This is one of the best strawberry ice cream brands you can buy because of its superior ingredients.



Tillamook is a co-operative consisting of approximately 100 dairy farms. It began in 1909 with only 10 independent farms. The co-op began making its own ice cream in 1947, which was sold locally under the Tillamook Maid brand name. At the end of the 1950s, its ice cream production greatly increased to allow for people to enjoy its creamy goodness.

Today, Tillamook makes a premium Oregon Strawberry ice cream. They also make Oregon Strawberry Shortcake frozen custard.

Turkey Hill


Turkey Hill was once owned by Kroger until it sold it to a private equity firm in 2019. Its products are sold across the United States and even internationally. The company was started in 1931 as a bottled milk delivery business. It wasn’t until 1954 that Turkey Hill began selling ice cream.

Try Turkey Hill’s Natural Strawberries and Cream ice cream for a tasty treat. Its ingredients include nonfat milk, cream, sugar, strawberries, strawberry puree (strawberries, sugar), and natural strawberry flavor. The company also makes Premium Strawberries and Cream ice cream with not as clean ingredients as Natural Strawberries and Cream.
