A white Good Humor ice cream truck used to roll slowly down the streets of my neighborhood during the summer months of the 1980s. A dollar was good enough to pick from a wide variety of treats offered.
This is when I first fell in love with Good Humor Toasted Almond ice cream bars. However, as the years moved along the truck stopped coming around and it was hard to find the packaged bars at stores. If I could find them, the price was hard to justify buying them but I did on occasion.
Smash cut to today where I just learned that Good Humor, a brand of Unilever, has discontinued making its Toasted Almond bars. Yep, Toasted Almond is hitting the ice cream graveyard similar to the recent death of Klondike Choco Taco.
A June 16, 2023 Twitter response from Good Humor confirms the discontinuation of the bar,
Hi there! 😊 Our Toasted Almond bars have unfortunately been discontinued. We apologize to our customers that may be disappointed by this news, but we're excited to continue offering our customers a wide variety of treats available in stores and ice cream trucks!

According to CNN Business, production of Good Humor Toasted Almond was actually stopped in 2022. Apparently, nobody noticed until the warm weather of 2023 rolled around and people began increasingly looking for these frozen treats.
It goes without saying but lack of demand was certainly a primary reason why Toasted Almond was eliminated. While there are undoubtedly loyal fans of this ice cream treat, consumer preference has moved on and competition has increased.
Good Humor Toasted Almond bar was introduced to the public in 1960 giving it a 60+ year legacy before it died. Do you think Good Humor made a mistake in axing Toasted Almond bars? Vote below!
