Private Selection

Private Selection is another brand owned by Kroger. It was first released in October 2000 as the company’s premium brand of various food items beyond just ice cream. A pint (16 oz.) of this ice cream was the same price as a 48 ounce container of Kroger Deluxe to give you an idea of what you might pay for Kroger’s version of premium ice cream.

Some of the more interesting flavors made under this brand are pistachio & honey, Maine blueberry Belgian waffle cone, brown butter bourbon truffle, and amaretto cherry cordial.

Ben & Jerry’s

It would be weird if one of the top grocery store chains in the United States didn’t sell the iconic Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Flavors may vary by location but our local Kroger had well over 20 different Ben & Jerry’s ice creams for sale. So, if that is any indication of a Kroger near you, you’ll definitely have options.

Lactaid

We write about Lactaid a lot here at The Dairy Dish because the brand offers dairy products without lactose. We love how Lactaid allows people with lactose intolerance or dairy sensitivities the ability to enjoy dairy without the fear of the unpleasant symptoms of lactose intolerance. Our nearest Kroger had vanilla, cookies & cream, and chocolate fudge brownie flavors in stock but there are certainly other flavors that may be available near you.

Graeter’s ice cream began in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1870.
